What I'm reading/watching this month

Friday, June 10, 2016

I decided to start a series of very short post dedicated to what I’m currently reading and watching. I try to read a book per month to keep my brain engaged. I really like fiction, but I try to branch out too. I utilize the library, because what is better than free books! I watch a show whenever I can and I try not to binge lol

Reading: The World Until Yesterday by Jared Diamond
This is the author of Guns, Germs and Steel and this book is about what we can learn from traditional societies. It shows the differences in the way we handle things such as trade, conflict and even organization within our societies.

Watching: Royal Pains on Netflix

This show is about a concierge doctor working in the Hamptons. It is funny, suspenseful and has romance along with medical and family drama. The doctor is in business with his little brother who used to work as a CPA, but is now the CFO of HankMed. Divya is their smart, witty and beautiful PA. The show is worth checking out! It has 7 seasons, but take your time watching.

What are you reading right now?

Authentic Korean in the...Grocery Store?

One stormy night I was supposed to go to Chinatown and get some food, but because of the weather my friend and I decided to go somewhere closer to get some authentic Korean food. The place we went is like a food court within a grocery store called Super H Mart with many options for food. It can be a bit overwhelming and everything smelled so good!

ToreOre & …

The two places within Super H Mart that we decided to go were ToreOre  and another place (so sorry. I cannot remember the name). ToreOre has Korean Fried chicken with two flavors garlic and a hot spicy flavor that is sold in Korea too, similar to another restaurant that I like here.

The second thing we split is a hot stone bowl that had veggies, seafood and rice (bap) with kimchi and all the sides. I believe it's called Bibimbap. It had an egg and when you get it, you are supposed to mix it in. I don’t really like eggs, but this meal was VERY good. I was stuffed and took food home. One of these days I am going to get a better handle on using chop sticks, but I left full so they served their purpose.

For dessert I got some green tea mochi with ice cream from the frozen isle at the grocery store. It has a mild taste while still being sweet and satisfying.

What’s one of your favorite authentic restaurants that I should check out?

-XOXO
