Today is Earth day. This day is devoted to raising awareness
of protecting the environment and the ways in which is impacts the quality of
life on Earth for all creatures. With that being said National Park week is
this week and you can enjoy free entry to America’s National parks until
Sunday. While you are out enjoying nature here are some simple tips you can do
to reduce your impact on the environment and more information can be found
here.
Use cloth bags when
grocery shopping
I use these and I have about 3, which is all I need. They
fit so much in them and I usually only use one or two. It is so much easier to
put those bags across my shoulder than struggling with 5 plastic bags in my
hands.
Reuse glass bottles
Whenever I buy the Starbucks frappuccino out of the stores,
I wash the glasses and keep them. I can use them later for water bottles and I
have even made vinaigrette and stored them in those in the fridge.
Recycle
In this day and age it is difficult to refuse the use of
plastic everything, so I recycle. I recycle junk mail, box containers, plastic
bottles and glass wine bottles. You really don’t notice how much you use until
it begins to pile up.
Carpool
I hate driving anyway. If you live close to someone going
the same place you are, why not go together? Less emissions and way more fun!
By doing small things such as this you can make life easier
for us and the next generation of Earths inhabitants!
