First, it shows interest in the position especially when you
ask questions that show you have done your research about the company and
position. In a recent interview I asked how the restructuring in the
organization would impact the department I was interviewing for.
Second, you need to make sure that this company is one you
would like to work as a part of. At this point in my career I want to learn
transferable skills and get experience so I ask about mentorship, if they do
any activities to foster career development and if there is room for
advancement in the department and what that looks like. Below are some additional
questions that may be helpful during your next interview:
How does the company evaluate performance?
Is there anything about my application that concerns you?
What are the next steps in the interview process?
Ask about a typical day. Is there a typical day or is the
day project based?
